Re: Validate String for specific character in a specific position.
We managed to resolve this by assigning a variable value like so. aqString.GetChar(Aliases.browser.wndSOURCE_VIEWER.page32770.RICHEDIT50W.wText,9) Then doing an IF Then to pull the result of the 9th position in the variable.2.4KViews0likes0Comments- 2.4KViews0likes2Comments
Validate String for specific character in a specific position.
Using a keyword test how would you validate that the 10th position of a string is of a specific character, for example. TxStatus=0&OrderId=100121&CardType=MC&CardSuffix=5454&ApprovalCode=198538 - I would like to assure that the TxStatus= is returning a 0 (the 10th position of the string). I've looked at aqStringLength and aqStringLength.Get but I am not seeing a way to use these to validate the result. In our setup we have 2 users, whom both have seperate windows user accounts on the same machine. The "Test Host" was installed to use person A's account so when any tests are triggered from ALM if person B is logged into the application (TestComplete via the Test Host webservice) will log person B out of Windows, log person A in and run the test. The issue we are having is that if person A or person B runs the test locally (not triggered by ALM) the test runs correctly and passes, however if ALM is used to run the test by either person A or B the test is opening numerous instances of one of the windows within the test script causing the test to fail. The browser type being used is Internet Explorer 11 on a Windows 7 64 bit O.S - If that helps. Has anyone else experienced this? We've tried adding delays, check point validations, if object exists, adjusting browser settings and nothing so far has helped. Thanks.908Views0likes0Comments- 3.1KViews0likes1Comment
Re: Parsing a string and counting characters.
The field is meant to have a specific length so if the value is either not long enough or ends up being to long the item should be flagged as failing or throw a warning to the logs. So I believe setting a static expectation would work.3.5KViews0likes12CommentsRe: Parsing a string and counting characters.
Hi Marsha_R I'm note sure I under the "If type1 is supposed to be 23 chars, then char 31 had better be "t" in a similar fashion char 44 should also be "t"" Part of your post. type1=12345678901234567890111 - if were to count each numeric as an individual id have 23 total numerics if that makes sense. So I want to count everything after the equal for type1. I believe this is what I need to do "That would be the simplest way to check. If you want the test to be more flexible, then you can parse the string and look for "type1" and then count some number of chars after that, then repeat that for each substring." Thanks again, can you explain this part further please and thank you again.3.5KViews0likes14Comments
