NOT for 11.2 > Before downloading and installing a patch, check if it is compatible with the TestComplete (or TestExecute) version you are using. Patches created for earlier product versions are incompatible with later product versions. Re: Firefox 38.4 released. As usual TestComplete does not support it. I submitted a ticket and received a response that a version of Firefox that I am not using and did not ask about has patches for a version of TestComplete that I am not using and did not ask about. It is November 9 - six days without support for the corporate recommended version of Firefox - ESR 38.4 - in the latest version of your product - 11.2. I expect someone to contact me now and tell me how this is going to be made right. Re: Support of FireFox ESR 38.4 TestComplete 11.2 was released on November 2 without support for either FF 42 or FF ESR 38.4. FF 42 and ESR 38.4 were released on schedule on November 3. Here it is November 9 and still no patch. I submitted a ticket and received a response that FF 42 support (not what I asked for) was released November 3 for TestComplete 11.11 (not the version I'm using). Re: Firefox 38.4 released. As usual TestComplete does not support it. Thanks for the link to support. I've submitted a request. But still, this shouldn't be a support issue. If tests are being run daily, of course there is an immediate need. This is a known, scheduled event. Mozilla has a 6 week release cycle and their release schedule is public. TestComplete should be releasing patches in tandem. See above. The amount we're paying annually for license fees makes this sloppy coverage unacceptable. This happens every single time there is a Firefox release. Every 6 weeks. Fortunately TestComplete is now working with IE 11 again after failing to work with IE 11 for several weeks due to a Microsoft security patch. Otherwise I would be completely dead in the water and requesting a partial refund for the time during which the software was unusable. Firefox 38.4 released. As usual TestComplete does not support it. There are no patches available for 38.4 ESR for any version of TestComplete including 11.2. This is business as usual for TestComplete and you seem to think it's acceptable. It isn't. Firefox ESR channel is released on a schedule: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=mozilla.com_2d37383433353432352d3939@resource.calendar.google.com Given the amount of money you charge for this product, it isn't unreasonable to expect you to keep on top of this schedule and release your patches in tandem. 38.5 ESR is scheduled for December 15. Please make sure your patches are ready to go on that date. SolvedRe: Fully patched 10.6 does not work with Firefox 36.03, 36.04 Looking at the XML file, it appears we can expect TestComplete to stop functioning with Firefox as soon as it increments to 37.0.2. It would be helpful if the error messages were more fine-grained. For example: "TestComplete does not support Firefox Beta releases" or "TestComplete currently only supports Firefox [list of versions specified in tcFFHook.xml] - your installed version is X." Re: TestExecute - Is there a way to run a specific test group in a project? That's not my scenario. Our development group needs to run a set of regression tests before pushing changes to the repository. I'm not involved in running their tests. The tests are run on from their development machines. I have solved this by writing small driver scripts that in turn run a subset of our tests. Essentially duplicating the "functionality" provided by test groups (I use scare quotes because if TestExecute can't run test groups, then what's the point?) Re: TestExecute - Is there a way to run a specific test group in a project? Further reading, I don't think this would work with TestExecute at all. This is using COM to drive TestComplete. OK fine, but the machine won't have TestComplete installed. I could use COM to drive TestExecute, but TestExecute has neither GUI functionality nor command line switches to run test items. Re: TestExecute - Is there a way to run a specific test group in a project? Apparently I have to write a script to do some COM magic. Which I'd rather not do, and I don't even know if this would work with a machine with just TestExecute installed. http://community.smartbear.com/t5/Getting-Started-with/Run-test-items-in-a-group/m-p/46252#M1112?_ga=1.189955627.1039810332.1411510108 This is just inexcusable. The more I work with TestComplete, the sadder I get.
