Re: Allow monthly reports to be scheduled even if there is no data from last month
This is a good idea. Right now, you get a blank page with no data. There is no reason that the report itself could not be scheduled, however, the link for it is just missing on the page because there is no current data. If the link to schedule a report can be presented for corresponding timeframes and type, regardless of present data being available, the issue would be resolved. An alternative would be to create an option within the Management API to create a scheduled report. The first option seems easier however.571Views0likes0CommentsRe: DNS server failure
Each location has a primary server that acts as the primary DNS server for all other servers in that location. The primary server at each location acts as a recursive DNS server doing look-ups directly to the root servers on the internet. The records are caches according to the TTL. You can update the Time Zone for the account, which would then display Dashboard and reporting data in the Time Zone you select rather than GMT. This is changed under Settings from the top right of the console - then Preferences on the left.1.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Is Alertsite affected by the Log4J vulnerability?
A new release for Private Locations is being reviewed now by Quality Assurance. The new release will mitigates all potential vulnerabilities regarding log4j. All private instances where this is a concern will be able to upgrade to this version once released. It will be released very soon3 years agoPlace AlertSite QuestionsAlertSite Questions1.5KViews2likes0CommentsRe: Is Alertsite affected by the Log4J vulnerability?
Public locations have been patched. Private locations are only impacted in very rare circumstances; when endpoints being tested are vulnerable and other internal insecure assets are in play. A release to mitigate the rare circumstances is being developed now. Try $ADDL_ERROR_INFO instead
AlertSite allows you to create Notification Templates that define static and dynamic information in your sent alerts. Among the modifications included are a host of possible dynamic 'Variables' that can be included in the notification, to customize the information received by the alert recipient when an error is triggered for a monitor in production. Many of the dynamic variables available for use are tied only to monitors of a specific type. Chief among these is the$URLLINE variable which can only be used in Up/Down Site Monitors. Multi-step monitors like DejaClick do not have a static URLs to include in notifications because they are directed by actions in the browser, not by direct calls to defined URLs on a specified port number like single URL monitors are. A possible solution for DejaClick monitors is to use the$ADDL_ERROR_INFO variable instead. The information in this variable would automatically include information about the error like response time, error message, and the error URL. While there is more information that just the URL in this data, the URL itself, if related to the error, would be present in the notifications received.3 years agoPlace AlertSite QuestionsAlertSite Questions725Views2likes0CommentsRe: Adding Multiple Monitors at once
You can use the Management API to create new monitors programmatically if you wish. Link to that Help section and the SwaggerHub Interactive API below for this call: https://support.smartbear.com/alertsite/docs/api/v3/monitors/create-website-monitor.html https://api.alertsite.com/swag/#!/monitors/postSOAPAPI3 years agoPlace AlertSite QuestionsAlertSite Questions1.1KViews2likes0CommentsRe: Alert or monitor dependencies
It's not possible natively, but you could build something internally to accomplish this. It would just take a little creative dev work to design, but not too complicated. You could essentially, have the 1st monitor trigger a POST notification or something similar sent to your internally built application, and have that error notification trigger an API call that disables the 2nd monitor. Once the 1st monitor clears, a 'Clear' POST or notification from the 1st monitor triggers your application to send another API call that re-enables the 2nd monitor again. Help on the API call that triggers the monitor change below.
