Re: Test Execution Assignment Gadget: is there a way to make Unassigned show up?
For what it is worth, I executed a test case w/o assigning it and because I didn't assign it before execution it still doesn't show up as covered by me. (an intentional action/test) I understand why (Test Execution Assignee and Executed By fields are different), but it make it difficult to track down the data inconsistencies.610Views0likes0CommentsTest Execution Assignment Gadget: is there a way to make Unassigned show up?
To me, a significant piece of the utility of this report is being left out. Is there any way to get it? (IT controls the user accounts, so I can add a dummy account) Why do I care? 1. As a manager/lead, it would be usefully to me to to know what is outstanding in the assignment world. There various reasons why I might intentionally test cases unassigned, but need to track: Lower priority test cases might not get assigned on an initial pass; I might enough direct resources on my team and need to use other R&D resources to get the testing done, but that are identified on a just-available-for-this-window basis; or I might be generating test case as we go and not immediately want to assign them out, but still want to track them. 2. The Project Mgr, Product Mgr and R&D Mgt all want to know what isn't assigned at any point in the process. I was hoping to use Zephyr to improve my weekly reporting through the use of Zephyr.613Views0likes1CommentCould someone explain the purpose of "Test Distribution by User"
If I understand it correct, Test Distribution by User is really Test Distribution by Person-Logged-In. How would I use this report in any meaningful way? By Reporter or by Assignee I can see a use for. What am I missing is seeing how this report would be useful to me? In my evaluation setup I am the person entering everything (8 Issues in this test), i.e. the Reporter. I have the Zephyr Execution Assignee split between Unassigned and two other team member not including me. I have the JIRA Assignee field 5 are assigned to me, 1 to one other team member (of the two above) and 3 unassigned. The report just shows all 8 Tasks with my name as the user. I don't why that is the case unless this is a By Reporter report. Otherwise, I'm failing to understand what the selection criteria is. Looking for enlightenment. Thanks.650Views0likes1CommentDoes ZephyrSquad have its own fixVersion field that is distinct from the JIRA field?
I am a little confused as to why Zephyr test is not populating the JIRA fixVersion field when I assign a test case to a test cycle, since it is needed in some of the JIRA Gadgets, e.g. Zephyr Test Distribution Gadget. I was thinking that I need to be manually added the associated version info to this field after I assigned a test (which seem stupid. Why isn't it just getting assigned. When click on the name of the Test Cycle in the Details portion of the Cycle Summary, I notice that the resulting report has a field named fixVersion that had the correct version info in it, but that info is not appearing in the JIRA fixVersion field of the JIRA Issue. What is going on? If Zephyr has its own version of the field is its own Gadget unable to access that field? I also noticed that SmartBear has an FAQ (sort of) on this issue, but I don't have JIRA Admin access and it is unclear is they are talking about Zephyr's fixVersion field being hidden or JIRA's fixVersion field being hidden. The JIRA field is definitely not hidden on a site. Working with IT is very challenging her, so I'm trying to get some insight to guide IT. Thanks.Solved959Views0likes1Comment
