Re: Zephyr Scale Tracelink Table & Latest Execution Not Showing on Jira Screen
Thank you for the direction to support I'll contact them and see if I can gather some more information. Also I think you might be on to something too with the times being so close, I might look at those a little closer in the database and see just what the timestamps are saying in there and see if there is any time overlaps that aren't apparent when looking at it in the UI.😀380Views0likes0CommentsZephyr Scale Tracelink Table & Latest Execution Not Showing on Jira Screen
I'm running into an issue that is kind of odd and I want to learn more about how the tracelink table works in the database and it's because ofthis: We have a defect in Jira that shows the execution's for test cases (nothing suspect there) however, for one of the test cases it shows the failing execution which IS NOT the latest execution (because the latest execution is passing) so the latest is not being pulled into the list of executions tied to the defect. To make things more odd, there is another test case that appears to be linked the same exact way as the other test case, it has two executions, one passing one failing (the failure was first then the pass) but it shows the passing execution instead of the failing execution. So we're trying to understand why this is happening? The reason I mentioned the tracelink table is because I also do the Data & Analytics for Jira / Zephyr using PowerBI and when I originally went to build out the data model this portion was very confusing since there are tables that seem like they should handle these relationships but they're completely blank and never written into. The tables are called: ISSUE_TO_TEST_CASE & ISSUE_TO_TEST_RESULT and they have 0 entries in all 3 of our environments. The only table that handles these relationships seem to be TRACE_LINK, but I don't know how the relationships are updated, maintained, etc. so that's part of this question. Here are some screenshots to better illustrate what I'm talking about above. This is an example of a linked test case that has the correct latest execution showing in the execution panel which is expected: This is an example of a linked test case that has the incorrect latest test execution showing in the execution panel which is un-expected, as you can see the latest execution is not listed: The only thing I could find that would explain why it doesn't show up is it seems it's not tied to an issue, but I want to know why that isn't automatically updated and how it interacts with the TRACE_LINK table:425Views1like2CommentsZephyr Import Markup (or Markdown)?
Hi Everyone, I'm trying to find the markup / markdown language that Zephyr uses.Context: my team is uploading test cases and including some SQL that needs to be ran during steps, but the import is changing out some of it as formatting code, so is there a code block or something that they can use while importing? Also where is the documentation for this formatting? I found this, but it is outdated and there is no link in Zephyr that is supposed to point to the formatting documentation. https://support.smartbear.com/zephyr-squad/faq/wiki-markup-support-in-test-steps/ Thanks, Ben422Views1like0CommentsRe: Zephyr Scale Importing Random ? Question Marks
Thanks for the quick replyjosh42! I do think this is was an encoding error (someone else did the import so not 100% what steps they took), but my team and I attempted the import in our test region and received no issues. If it pops up again we can revisit, but encoding was likely the culprit.😅 Thanks, Ben596Views0likes0CommentsZephyr Scale Importing Random ? Question Marks
Hi Everyone, A team member performed an import the other day for test cases, and after the upload we noticed there were a lot of random ? marks that were inserted in the test case name (title) and wanted to get guidance on why this is happening? I looked over the csv file, and there are no special or hidden characters used in the name at all. Given the type of work we do, I can't provide those files but I can post an altered example. When I paste the csv name into a txt file (which strips any formatted items) it looks like this. I know this isn't extremely helpful given the red lines, but as you can see there are no special characters, I also looked for double spaces and there are none, any help is appreciated.🙃Solved622Views0likes2CommentsOverall Burndown & Burnup?
Hi there, is there a way to use the burndown / burnup to see overall number of test cases vs cases that have been executed? Right now the gadgets for the burndown and burnup only include executed test cases, my manager would like to see the total number of test cases in a burndown chart. -- From my experience as an Agile Coach, your burndown and burnup are misleading since the standard way a burndown is used is to show the overall number of points, cases, hours (which ever metric you prefer they're all interchangeable) and the rate at which they're being completed which would also show an ideal trend line for taking that overall number and reducing it to 0.381Views2likes1Comment
