Re: Current Project Properties -> Log Location.... not saving correctly
Hi dmiscannon, Unfortunately this doesn't help. I put in my specified directory in the Log Location field in the "Default Project Properties" and "Current Project Properties" and as soon as I close Test Complete and reopen the project these fields are reverted back to the default and my directory no longer is saved. Hi, I can change the Log Location to another directory and this will work fine if I then run the tests within that same instance of Test Complete. However if I close Test Complete... The next time I open the project it has reverted the Log Location back to its original destination. Is this a defect in the software or is there a better way to always store my log files in a specific directory. The reason for this is because my tests are stored on the server as it gets a daily backup but the log files contain a lot of Region Checkpoint images and takes up a lot of disk space so I would like the log files to be stored in a folder on my computer rather than the network. Plus the run time is quicker as it is not constantly trying to store .png's across the network. I've been having difficulty with table variables. Basically the long and short of it is...... If I create a Temporary Variable Table and then type in data ito the relevant columns. When within the test I go to get this data and to use if for comparisons ussing if statements for example. My data from the table always returns as a string. Why cant it work out that it is an Integer or a Float value or a Boolean? However!!! If within my test I use code to push dataa into the table. If Ithen get this data back out of the table it recognises it as a Float, Integer or Boolean etc... So why when I type the same data into the table does it automatically think its a string? Is there any way to configure each column or row to specify that the values should be a specific varaible type? Perhaps an option/new feature would be helpful when you right click the column heading. Also my other problem with tables is that if I want to create a new column and move it to a different place. The headings changes as per my move but the data in the fields stay in the same place. So I then have to retype my data into the next column and move that columns data into the next column and so on and so on..... Why isn't there an option to insert a column or delete a column like there is when you right click on a row heading? Is there any solutions to my queries or are these 2 things that could be a new feature? Thanks in advance for any help or ideas coming this way!929Views0likes0CommentsRe: Silly little Status box... Come here...
Hi, I feel your pain on that silly box! I have come across a way to create your own shortcut as it is not currently assigned in test complete. If you go to; Tools > Customize Keyboard Within thereon the categories section find "Test Engine" and in the Commands section find "Pause". Set the nessecary shortcut you desire and boom. Done. Hope that aids some pain relief!2.6KViews1like1CommentRe: How to apply if contains condition for two variables in Keyword test
I'm glad it worked for you. You could either put a Log Message in it or a Log Checkpoint. In this intance I would suggest a checkpoint. A way to do this would be to select "Call Objecet Method" from the test actions and in the field type "Log" Then click next and it should give you a list of methods to choose from. Find "Checkpoint" and click next. Then in the Message Text field you can enter your message. "Data was found as expected." (I've just used this as an example. You can type in what you like.) Then click finish. If the variable is not found and it goes to the Else statement then you could do the same but put in a Warning message. which s the same process but you select "Warning" instead of checkpoint. Or you could just simply use a Log Message which again is the same but you select "Message" instead. Does this help? I've attached an image which shoul help too :) Rich4.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: How to apply if contains condition for two variables in Keyword test
I think I've solved your problem. It looks like your Value2 is not set to; Mode - Constant Type - Integer Value - 0 Try it all again with your actual data and this setup for Value2 and it should work. Also make sure the Condition is set to "Greater Than or Equal To" Rich5.5KViews0likes2CommentsRe: How to apply if contains condition for two variables in Keyword test
Right.... I think I might know what your problem is. When you open the Value1 box to enter your data have you selected "Code Expression" from the drop down list like I've displayed in my attached image? Secondly... I have also made an error on my part. You can remove the ,0 and change the code to; aqString.Find(VarA,VarB) Also you need to change the Condition to be "Greater than or equal to". If you follow the above this should make it work.4.3KViews1like6CommentsRe: How to apply if contains condition for two variables in Keyword test
Just from what I can see it doesn't look like you've got the following code in there; aqString.Find(VarA,VarB,0) You need to select 'Code Expression' then type this in and then replace "VarA" and "VarB" with your variables.3.1KViews0likes8Comments
