VLC screen recorder - missing beginning

Hi,

I was happy to find TC extension for screen recording based on VLC and somehow it works but....

When test is longer than let's say 1minute, initial 24 seconds of the video are missing.

I tried with different codecs (other than h624) but quality is so poor.

The same happens when I start recording from PowerShell level in test queue based on my on commandline VLC operation.

Anybody had same problems, any solution ?

VLC 3.0.17.4

From what I understand, it seems like VLC needs time to initialise.

  • I've encountered a similar issue with the VLC screen recorder – it's skipping the initial 24 seconds of my recordings. I've experimented with different codecs, but the quality is suffering. Even when I initiate recordings from the PowerShell level in a test queue using my own command-line VLC setup, the problem persists. Has anyone faced this and found a solution? I'm currently using VLC version 3.0.17.4. On a side note, you might want to consider using the Alight Motion Mod APK latest version for editing purposes. It could be a helpful addition.

  • OBS Studio has a command line parameter --startrecording as well.

I haven't used this myself, but perhaps it could still be an alternative.
