Is anyone else experiencing an issue with TC not recognizing the 'Confirm' pop-up messages in web tests? It worked fine before the last several updates, and I just noticed after revisiting some tests that interacted with these pop-ups. It doesn't seem to be able to recognize the pop-up itself and falls back to identifying the content underneath it after it freezes up for a long moment. Is this something that I should email to support directly? Thank you.

I had a zoom meeting with a couple of people from Smartbear today to discuss this issue and another we are having.I told them it was completely unacceptable that this was not fixed weeks ago. I said that if my company had an issue with our Web product that caused it to suddenly not work with the latest version of Chrome then our developers would not be going home that today until the issue is resolved.

I also asked them which version of Chrome does TestComplete support? They said "it should always support the latest version". I know that is not techincally what is listed in documentation, but that was their answer in the meeting.

I recieved a response from support today stating that this should be resolved with version v15.48.6 of TestComplete. I used their example dialog page to test the update:http://secure.smartbearsoftware.com/samples/testcomplete15/dialogs/ The "Alert" button now responds and you can click the OK button. You still can NOT read the message on the alert. The "Prompt" and "Confirm" examples are still broke.

Still broke. Still no response from Smartbear. And, I am still shocked at Smartbear's lack of response. If you are testing a WEB product and you are just getting started, I would 100% recommend using Selenium instead of TestComplete.

Regarding the support issue, it is planned to add additional members to the TC support team. Apologies again for these issues, and I will keep you posted with any further updates.

It's an issue with the latest version of Chrome, which TC doesn't currently support yet. A few members are having this issue too.

  This is also occurring in Edge. Is there a current workaround or an eta on a fix other than downgrading Chrome?

Yes, I have similar issues.... hopefully devs will fix/update or issue patch to allow these to work on latest chrome etc. My similar issues started after I had updated to Chrome 107, just as an FYI.

I did log a call as well.

  Have you tried downgrading your Chrome version? I tried following the directions on their help page with no success. I'm also experiencing the issue on Edge. This is holding up my tests for a total of 1:30 seconds. It's getting annoying. I hope the release a fix/solution soon.

They are currently 5 versions behind per their supported Chrome listing.

Interesting, as in the past they seemed pretty good about staying on top, or at least issuing a patch fairly quickly. I had really hoped when I saw this latest update available, that it was going to work again. But, yeah, nope. Not yet from what I can see as well.
