SoapUI open source runs out of memory when I attempt to create SOAP sample messages from a WSDL.

The reason seems to be that the XML schema (imported into the WSDL) consists of a large number of optional elements which are heavily meshed. The schema is actually an extract from our organisation's...

What do you mean by "configured to limit the number of XML branches it attempts to identify? "
Try increasing heap size in SOAPUI_HOME\bin\soapui.bat file
