Problem solved. Stupid grammar checker does not allow me to write the solution. So... Screw it.
Hi,
I am having exactly the same issue with the Open Source version of SoapUI. I would be grateful for any details on your solution that you can manage to post...
Thanks.

Hi Rjo,
Seems the revelent error message from his log is: "20132659 incompatible with Text-specific LCD contrast key"
Do you have the same in yours?
Googling for that turned up this post on Microsoft Answers:...using Control Panel I turned off the ClearType option.
And it all started to work again: all my Java based software loads now.If this helps you, I'll set this question as solved. If it doesn't, would you mind making a new thread and posting your own logs?

Thats exactly what helped me. Had to disable cleartype

Thanks 2464,
I disabled ClearType (on Windows 7 pro) and that didn't resolve the issue. Glad to hear that it works for others.
I had been using the same version/install for 6 - 8 monthis regularly without any problems. It just failed to launch one day. No recent java updates. I did an uninstall / reinstall last week, clearing anything I could find in the registry and disk. It still failed to start.... splash screen flashes for no more than 1 second. I did find that it launched successfully under 'Run as administrator'. I tried again this morning (same install) and it still fails, even running under admin.
Thanks again for your post.
