AlertSite Spectre and Meltdown CPU Vulnerability Update #2
We are working to update the AlertSite platform against the Meltdown and Spectre CPU vulnerabilities and I have some updates to share.
- We have begun updating our public monitoring servers with the first OS patch, which addresses the Meltdown vulnerability. At present about a third of our public locations have been patched and we expect to be done with this patch by end of next week. This patch has also been added to the 2.1.1 version of PrivateNode Server, which is in QA now and should be released next week.
- Our infrastructure provider for the AlertSite SaaS platform has patched the underlying infrastructure and we will apply additional OS patches as they are released, tested and verified.
- Additional patches for the Spectre vulnerability are still be developed by Intel and OS vendors and will be deployed when ready.
- Please note we are unable to patch PrivateNode server versions prior to 2.1. If you are running these earlier versions, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager to discuss upgrade options.
We will provide additional information as this patching initiative progresses.
