Sys.OleObject("WScript.Shell").Run(file_path)
will open the file in its associated application, in case of a PDF file - in Acrobat Reader or any other installed PDF reader.
But as others said, if you need to just read text from a PDF file, there're better ways to do that that do not involve Acrobat. For example, you can use the PDFBox.NET library to read the text programmatically. Here's an example.
