Updated to SOAPUI 5.2.0 and now the assertion that I added to a test case is failing.

Rad,

 

I did the same way copying the Raw response XML data into Contains assertion in SoapUI 5.2. My assertion passes! I guess some spaces would hinder the validation point. Not sure on this!
