Adding a property variable in Access Token field returns invalid token.

Without some project example it is difficult for me to follow what is happening. In general for me bearer tokens and property transfers have been working fine in SoapUI.

In my usage I fetch bearer token by using HTTP or REST test steps instead of using any built in mechanism in authorization tabs. With manual control you will know exactly what you are doing. When inputting bearer token to the request, you should use Header assignment by adding "Authorization" named header with value "Bearer <tokenPropertyValue>". This is in my experience most reliable way. Also remember to remove any built-in authorization options from the test steps,they may interfere "Authorization" header setting.

In your case I would suggest adding Fiddler or some other proxy in between. From there you could inspect the actual HTTP request and its header values and compare it to the working case. This way you could pinpoint any differences.

Has the token saved under project level properties?

Yes tried under :
Project level
TestSuite level
TestCase level

it returns the token is invalid
it works only if write directly the value of the token in Access Token field

If i check the value saved in properties i see the correct value.

i don't understand why this value is not retrieved in the access token field.

I tried to convert the value to string like this $(#Project#token).toString()

i have the same issue. is it because it is open source version?

yes i tried groovy to extract the token and it can save the token in any property level.

It cannot read the value of the token from any property, it read only if i copy/paste directly the token into access token field.

Yes it's Bearer token (i followed this procedure: https://www.soapui.org/docs/oauth2/oauth2-authorization/) but i don' t have all the information about client identification, client secret, Authorization URI, Access Token URI, Redirect URI.

called it Profile 1 in Authorization but it tried rename to Bearer.

i tried context.testCase.testSuite.project.setPropertyValue('TOKEN', accessToken)

The token  is saved in project property but still not got retrieved in access token in the second request.

What do you mean by instead of Authorization use request step?

in my project i have:

TestSuite 

----TestCase

------------LoginRequest (here i retrieve the access token wity groovy or with Property transfer)

------------Request to create an account  (here i use Authorization with access token where i write ${#Project#TOKEN} or the one where i transfer with property transfer)

You say once the token is retrieved from the LoginRequest there is point of property transfer. You are right but i did a property transfer because i wanted to try if with property transfer the second request is able to retrieved the token, It was not able to retrieve the token even with property transfer.

Adding bearer as prefix? Yes i renamed Profile1 to bearer.

It's still not retrieving the token for me.

I tried with Postman it works fine but i want to use soapui.

I did not add Authorization Header i added Authorization in Auth tab i did nothing in Header tab.

i added Authorization with name Bearer in each request: LoginRequest and in the second request to create an account.

So is there a solution to fix this issue with Token bearer not getting retrieved in all request after a first login request?

I used for years soapui and this feature was working fine.

Is there a limitation with the latest open source versions?

It looks like a bug.
