When will ReadyAPI ship with updated JRE?

Java version 16 hit End-of-Life in September 2021. There have been security updates to JRE 16.0.1 (now 16.0.2) which might have been included in one of the recent releases, but the five releases of ReadyAPI since December all ship with JRE 16.0.1+9-24.

 

Java version 17, a long-term-support (LTS) version of Java, went GA in September 2021.  

 

When will the JRE that ships with ReadyAPI be updated?

    Hey jrforeman,

    You might want to check the release notes for the more recent versions, just in case the jre has been updated, but other than that i dont think forum members will be able to answer your question....think youd have to submit a support ticket to Smartbear to find out, but even the Smartbear dev might not know at this point if the current JRE does everything needed. Obviously if there's a super critical security flaw, Smartbear patch ReadyAPI fairly quickly (like the log4j issues last December), but other than that....upgrading could be awhile away and the dev forecast coule change even if Smartbear did think to upgrade at a certain point in future.

    Im curious....are you having issues with running jre 16.....is it security concern? Do you have other software installed that needs libraries from the later jre?
