Re: How to check for objects that did not exist at test start
Once the item is created, it needs to be added to a schedule. We do this by going to the schedule and clicking the Add button. A Dialog opens and in it is a table with 2 columns; one with checkboxes and one with the item names. The list includes all items that are available but not added to the schedule (either because they are new or exist on a different schedule) I need to find the checkbox in the first column that is next to the Cell with the newly created item's name.1.5KViews0likes1CommentHow to check for objects that did not exist at test start
I have a test that creates new items on our website. This consists of multiple parts that each create pieces of what will come together at the end as a fully functional program. One of the steps creates savings information for another piece created earlier in the tests. To do this, TestComplete has to click an add button, then find the new item in a table. Unfortunately this is where i am having issues. With each new version we run this test and it cannot identify the checkbox next to the new name without me manually adding the checkbox into the namemapping before running. Then after the checkbox is enabled and the dialog is closed, the new item is added to an existing list and i have to identify an edit button next to the new item. Same issue as these do not exist before test execution. Is there a way to identify these newly created items during test execution? or a way to parameterize/variableize the namemapping for the checkbox/edit button?1.5KViews0likes4CommentsRe: Could not convert variant of type (OleStr) into type (Double)
Double-clicking the exception takes me to the Operation of the Object Checkpoint, but it does not help me locate what part of the Object is causing the error. It is a large object, with a lot of tables, panels, and cells that it is using as reference to check against, but that is all condensed into the one object checkpoint.8.8KViews0likes1CommentRe: Could not convert variant of type (OleStr) into type (Double)
I believe that it is a TC error, but i'm not 100% sure. It doesn't really give me enough info. Here is a screen shot of the exception: And no, I have not used devexpress. Is that a free tool that would help here?8.8KViews0likes0CommentsCould not convert variant of type (OleStr) into type (Double)
I am using TestComplete 11, and have mapped a Stores Object to test a UI form that loads on the page. Mostly It is mapped just ot check all cells and tables are visible, with a few lables checking for the correct contentText. When I first ran an object checkpoint against it, it worked smoothly with only minor issues with values being slightly different or some cells being hidden. However, now when I try to use it (still in the same keyword test with no modifications made to it) I keep getting an Exeption thrown saying: Could not convert variant of type (OleStr) into type (Double) I have dug through everywhere I can think to look, but cannot find exactly where it is trying to perform this conversion. Any Ideas?8.8KViews0likes5Comments
