Re: Auto-fill from entry that doesn't show in the Recent List
I think I just figured it out. While editing the test that you want to copy, click "Add Linked Item" and then "Add Test", and it will copy many of the fields for you. It doesn't copy the folder, test steps, and a few other things, but this is better than nothing.12 years agoPlace QAComplete QuestionsQAComplete Questions798Views0likes0CommentsAuto-fill from entry that doesn't show in the Recent List
It would be nice if you could find a specific item (Requirement, Test, etc) and duplicate it. Currently if you're making a new test, for example, and it's old enough that it doesn't show in the "Auto-fill from recent entry" list, there's not a way to copy an existing item. Is there a way to do this that I'm not seeing?12 years agoPlace QAComplete QuestionsQAComplete Questions7.4KViews0likes1Comment- 12 years agoPlace QAComplete QuestionsQAComplete Questions861Views1like0Comments
Re: Tests within tests
Two part suggestion: 1. You may be able to accomplish the traceability/dependence piece using a numbering system for your test names. R2 could be your main test, and then R2.1, R2.2, etc could be tests "below" that test. 2. Then as far as running the test set, the closest thing I can think of is using the "Is Sequential" checkbox in the Test Set Edit screen. Then if you put your tests in the order you wish them to run, it will force you to go in that order when you're running the test set.12 years agoPlace QAComplete QuestionsQAComplete Questions2.2KViews2likes0CommentsRe: Test Sets - Transition From Tests
Only one person should run a test set. Multiple people running the same test set will not be able to combine their efforts, rather all efforts will be duplicated. Also, we found out the hard way, if you pause a test in a test set and then close out of ALM Complete, you lose all of your data for that test. I believe this defect is currently being worked and should be resolved sometime in 2013 Brett, if you click "End Run", it should give you the option to Pause the test set. Click the radio button for Pause and click OK. Then regardless of your session activity, the next time you click Run for that test set, it will resume from where you left off (only for tests that were finished in that test run, either passed or failed).12 years agoPlace QAComplete QuestionsQAComplete Questions2.8KViews0likes0CommentsCan you create Test Sets from other Test Sets?
I've created a few smaller test sets that test specific functions, and I couldn't find a fast way (besides selecting each individual test from the test library) to add tests from an existing test set to my new test set. Is there a way to do this? I would have thought that under the "Select from" option there would be "Test Sets", but it only has "Test Library" as an option. I may have to rethink my folder structure now, or possibly add some custom fields and filters to help me link tests tohelp make the larger test sets.12 years agoPlace QAComplete QuestionsQAComplete Questions9KViews0likes1Comment- 12 years agoPlace QAComplete QuestionsQAComplete Questions959Views0likes0Comments
