Re: Field Dichotomy: Found by One Script; Unusable by Other Script
So, tell me if this makes sense: I recorded a script, Test3, that is identical in every way to Test2. When I first ran Test2, it worked; then, it stopped working. When I first recorded Test3 and ran Test3, it worked; after I ran Test2, not only did Test3 fail, but Test2 started failing, too. Again, there is no difference at all between the two scripts.1.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Field Dichotomy: Found by One Script; Unusable by Other Script
NameMapping is being used, but I'm not doing anything explicitly to create entries within it. All I know is that controls, etc., that used to work now fail with no changes to scripts - or anything else for that matter.1.1KViews0likes0CommentsField Dichotomy: Found by One Script; Unusable by Other Script
Testing a screen that takes user input, I have a field that I'll call objName that is called by two different scripts. It worked in the first script for a long time but, when it stopped working, I recorded another script to test the same field. TestComplete assigned it the same name ("objName"), and I am able to re-run this script. However, when I try to run the first script, into which I copied the object from the second script, the first script still cannot find objName, even with a blinking cursor in it, and even though I can type text into it while the script is waiting and failing. Advice appreciated...2.8KViews0likes6CommentsRe: TestComplete Loses Window
The other day, I ran a script that also called the same application, TestedApp1, and it started the Application and was able to interact with it. Nothing has changed about the Application; however, now, my script can't find the window when running it. I will review the webinar, but I don't think that will make much of a difference.957Views0likes0CommentsTestComplete Loses Window
I recorded a script in TestComplete after TC was unable to access a particular text field and I was unable to get it to capture the field such that it was editable. At first, this script failed because TC could not activate and enter data into the field in question; however, now, the script fails because it cannot find the application window - after it starts the application itself! I am able to click on and type in the first screen while TC cannot find it; therefore, I am puzzled.Solved2.5KViews0likes3CommentsIssues with Data Sorting and Table Comparisons
I'm not sure if this post belongs under "Novices" or under "General" but, since I'm a novice with TestComplete, I'll post it here. Our application has some sortable data tables with clickable headers (to select sorting). The data are not static, so I cannot store them in the script in advance. I know how I would go about doing this if I had two tables and either C++ or Python, but how does one effect a comparison to ensure that proper sorting is being performed? Thank you very much in advance.Solved3.1KViews0likes1CommentRe: Path 'c:/*' is not under client's root 'C:/P4/'.
This may be a stab in the dark, but Windows (like DOS before it) uses the backslash as the directory delimeter; in your comment, you used the forward-slash as the delimeter. Could that be preventing your source control software from recognizing the path?3.5KViews0likes0Comments
