Re: Multi User access question
Thanks, having read the documents it appears the limit is 1 active user per license so to use on a VM would need 2 licenses for 2 active users. Or the other solution is a shared project with 2 sepreated TestComplete instances using this as described.1.9KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Multi User access question
Unfortunatley this does not cover the scenario I am talking about, I am not talking about having a shared project it is a question about testcomplete being hosted on a virtual machine and the project files located here as well and both users being able to use the program and project at the same time2KViews0likes5CommentsMulti User access question
HI, Currently I have TestComplete 10.6 on my local workstation, as I now have a remote colleague we have had discussions about getting a license to install the software on a VM that we can both access. However the point of this would be to allow both of us to use the software at the same time on the same project and it seems unclear if this would be viable, as I have seen a couple of posts about having local project files to avoid conflicts. Can anyone confirm if the is a solution at at all? Thanks Chris2KViews0likes7CommentsxPath in test script error message
I have a website with a dynamic grid so can't select the id of the object, I have been trying to find a way to select this and I have come across xPath as a method however I am having trouble with this. I have recorded my test rather than scripting from the beginning, it has been recorded in VB and then I have found the object in firefox developer tools and right clicked and copied the xPath. Now this is not exactly what I need it to be so I have amended the details to search on the details that remain static, however when I do this and try to run the test I get an error message. The error is as follows: error 100: syntax error while processing "/" Can anyone advise why I would be getting this issue? The amended line is as follows: //*[@value="7"] I will add that this is an object in a grid and it is div type, not sure if this makes a difference at all3.4KViews0likes1CommentRe: Object truncation in TestComplete 10
Hi Alexei, The object is truncated in the object browser as well as the recorded value in the test as well, the following is what is recorded for the object when I double click the item in the recorded test: Aliases.browser.pageCentralReportsReportsImports.panelContent.panelContentWrapper.sectionMainContentUiWidgetConten.formFormReportSettings.panelAccordion.panelDivsettings.fieldsetReportOptions.selectSettingsdataReportedaccoun I have selected the object after inspecting the element name is shown as follows: SettingsData_ReportedAccountsDays Chris654Views0likes0CommentsObject truncation in TestComplete 10
I am using testcomplete to record a number of web based tests on a site I am running locally on a VM, mostly this is going ok but I am testing some new functionality for reports settings and I am having a problem with this. It relates to a drop down option for number of days selected, when I have looked into the point of failure it appears the recorded object in testcomplete has been truncated when I compare this to the object on the site from the HTML. Is there a setting that can change the maximum number of characters for an object, as it appears to the limited to 225 based upon the location or is there another way to get round this?3.5KViews0likes3CommentsCross browser testing failing on browser already running message
As per the subject title I am getting the above error message trying to setup a cross browser test, however the browser and the related process is not running and when the test runs the log in page for my site just sits and cycles through each stage and fails. I am running a VM hosting my site and running the test on my local workstation at this point on windows 7 pro 64 bit, I initially thought it may be the recorded test so I have recorded this again and tried using firefox rather than IE to record and still get the same result. I did find that adding IE as the first browser to run the test on, even if I was to right click on firefox and run the test from the selected option after the firefox browser opened then IE would open and the only way to prevent this was to remove from the list even though it should not have occured. I have run tests like this on other sites and I have not had this issue before and as I cannot see any reference to IE or that the browser process is already running, has anyone experienced something similar to this?4.2KViews0likes4CommentsTestComplete 9.31 TFS Integration
Hello, I am looking into the possibility of TFS integration with TestComplete to help with issue reporting as part of my UI testing, the documents that I have seen state that Team Foundation Server 2008 is supported however my connection would be running the more recent 2012 edition. Providing I use the correct MSSCCI provider, is the link possible with the more recent version? My other question is in relation to the template manager settings, when a project issue is raised within TFS is it the case that whatever text string is used in the template will be used for all issues raised from TestComplete within that project? Thanks Chris3.2KViews0likes0Comments
