Working with files in store
Hello! I'd like to know if there is a way to get a path to the file in stores? I've added a file to Stores/Files and opted to copy the file there. Since we use source control the file will not be in the same location on every computer. In my test, tested application would need to access that file (not only Test Complete), so i'd like to have the file path to stores as a variable. Is this possible?14KViews0likes3CommentsdlgSaveTheFileAs
Is there any unified way to dealing with OS save as dialogs? I am testing an application, which opens a custom print dialog on "finish" command, but if no printer is installed an OS-built-in save as dialog appears. I've written a piece of code that checks for the dialog: if (Aliases.splwow64.dlgSaveTheFileAs.Exists) { if (Aliases.splwow64.dlgSaveTheFileAs.WaitProperty("Visible", true, 1000)) Aliases.splwow64.dlgSaveTheFileAs.btnCancel.ClickButton(); } Problem is, that "finish" command also clears data in the form that opens said dialogs, so the form sometimes gets focus instead of save as dialog. In those cases Test complete does not recognize save as dialog and it just waits. I've read this articlehttp://smartbear.com/support/viewarticle/12178/ Could you help me applying code so this does not happen.13KViews0likes1CommentChecking if the test is running on 64 bit system or not
Hello! I am new to TestComplete and i was wondering something. Since 64 bit windows have some things different than x86 windows ("paths" for dialogs and such) it is sometimes necessery to check on which system the test is running. So i was wondering what are best practices to do that? So far i found that the "explorer" process has a property called "ProcessType". Its value is "x64" if its running in 64bitenvironment or "x86" if its not. Is this a good practice or is there some better way to determine if the system is 64 bit or not. Example function i've written for this: function isSystem64bit() { if (Aliases.Explorer.ProcessType == "x64") return true; else return false; }14KViews0likes2Comments
