Re: IE 8 stops working while running the scripts
Hi, This may be too late but I hope would be useful. The another way to keep test running even after IE stops or crashes is to detect this event and add handler to this event. Whenever there is crash in IE or it stops responding the process named 'werfault' exists in the system and after certain timeout we can detect this if IE actually crashed or stopped working. I have implemented this approach and after I am able to run the my test suite of around 200 tests even if browser crashes with restarting it in the same event. Hi Jean, The use of events and event handlers can be customized in your case. You may try the following steps to achieve what you want - 1.Have customized error message at a point where you want to stop or after the check which upon failure the test should be stopped. 2.Enable events 3.From general events, select onLogError event and add event handler/listner to it. 4.In event handler/listener function check for the customized message if posted in the logs. If that is found in logs stop the test by Runner.Stop() else come out of function. I have used this method in my tests and it works. -Amit671Views0likes0CommentsRe: Website requires a inspection from the object browser before code works
Hi, I am not sure what state of the web page means specific to your application. If the state is changed after the code is executed as you have mentioned above , i would recommend to use either Sys.Refresh() or IIE.Refresh() in your case. This would refresh the child objects in the process tree and you will get the desired webpage after executing the code. Hi Anil, I think you are using the DOM model for object tree. I have solution for your intended purpose can be met if you switch to the Tree model of object tree. The steps can be as below Here you can take first reference of the parent object where rows are added. Add new row. Refresh the parent object. You may verify the no of rows updated in the parent object or any other property that may indicate addition of new row. Let me know if this is helpful Regards, Amit1.2KViews0likes0CommentsIE 8 stops working while running the scripts
Hi, I am getting the "Internet explorer stopped working" error while running my project and all test items in that. I have test complete 8.5. The error is not observed if I run the individual test. So I am sure the problem is not with my test script. This is severely impacting my test runs since I have more than 250 test items to be run and I had to restart complete execution whenever I get this error. How can we avoid these errors ? Hi Mohit, 1.The tree hierarchy of the objects can be set from the project options. Project Properties > Open Applications >Web Testing ( select tree model as Tree ) The way to use the tree object effectively is to get the reference of the parent object of the required object and get child object using Find method. The depth to which child object is to be identified can be specified in Find method. 2.If the id,name are not available or notconsistent, you can use the classname or objectType for object recognition. Also the combination of multipleproperties can be used to find the objects. Regards, Amit758Views0likes0Comments- 1.5KViews0likes0Comments
