How to resolve retrieving data from Excel file slowly.
hi, we are building a framework on TestComplete. The scripting launguae is VBs.All the test data and test action words are stored in excel. And we using DDT.ExcelDriveror Sys.OleObject("Excel.Application") to initiate an excel app object, then read test data and controlprocessfrom excel file. The issue we are facing is thatthe speed to read data from excel is too slow. Are there any approaches to resolve this kind of issue? To retrieve data from excel get more quicker in TestComplete? Thank you.21KViews0likes1Comment- 606Views0likes0Comments
Re: How to know sheet is not present in Excel workbook with DDT.ExcelDriver
yes, i can understand what does you mean. but sometimes the sheetname would be misspelled(we are planning to put the sheetnames and excelpaths in configure excel files to be related to different test cases). so i think the check is required.815Views0likes0CommentsHow to get the log picture in script
we are planning to print screenshot when error is captured, and get the hyperlink to this screenshot. So how can we configure to make the screenshot saved to our specified folder? do you have some method in Log to get the value from Log.link/Log.picture and so on?18KViews0likes2CommentsHow to know sheet is not present in Excel workbook with DDT.ExcelDriver
hi, I'm using DDT.ExcelDriver to fetch data in excel like this : excelDriver = DDT.ExcelDriver(excelPath, sheetName) However, sometimes the sheetName is not present in my excel workbook, and above statement will be executed without any errors. Is there any way to judge whether my "excelDriver" is right in advance? which something likes: if isNull(excelDriver) or excelDriver = nothing then Log.Message(sheetName &"is not present in excel file"&excelPath) end if Or we can only know this by Error Numbers? Thank you.17KViews0likes4CommentsRe: How to refer object property by using a variable?
Try using "Eval" on the results to return the actual object. In your case, it should be Set Obj = Eval("TradeDataGrid.FlexObject.dataProvider.list.source.item(row)."&v_clr) The object you want will be returned. I'm also wonderring if thereare some other ways.739Views0likes0CommentsRe: How to control wait time for ToURL command
I think you want to wait for a longer time before TestComplete ends with error. You can check the above "Stop on error" checkbox, and encrease the "Auto-wait timeout, ms:" besides this option. This time is defined the auto-wait time. This option can also be set in script as below(in VBs). Options.Run.Timeout=100000 Hope this can help you.1.4KViews0likes0Comments
