Re: Python Script not running following upgrade to TestComplete 11.3
Joseph, Thank you for that solution. Changing from () to [] worked for me but I am running into other issues with my python scripts around arrays and such. Do you know why scripts that were running in TestComplete 11.2 worked fine but since the upgrade these scripts are no longer working when there have been no script changes. It is a bit concerning that an upgrade could break my scripts so easily and I haven't seen any change log as to changes to Python scripts with TestComplete. Thanks, Mark1.9KViews0likes1CommentPython Script not running following upgrade to TestComplete 11.3
I have some python scripts that make a database call and populate a a variable with data. I then try to put some of the data into a local variable for a keyword test. This was working fine in Test Complete 11.2 but since upgrading to Test Complete 11.3 the script is not longer working. See the code snippet below: con = ADO.CreateADOCommand() con.ConnectionString = GeneralFunctions.DatabaseConnectionString() con.CommandText = "SELECT TOP 1 a.GenericName, FROM Table1a, Table2b, Table3c WHERE ORDER BY NEWID()" con.CommandType = cmdText rs = con.Execute() rs.MoveFirst() Below is the error message that I get: Python runtime error. TypeError 'IDispatchIndexedPropertyrapper' object is not callable.Solved1.9KViews0likes6Comments- 1.5KViews0likes0Comments
Microsoft Edge is not being found as a Browser
I have test set up that run fine with Chrome and IE using the Browser loop with all controls as children under the Sys.Browser(). I did have Edge working at one point but now Edge is not being recognized by Sys.Browser(). I don't know how this changed as I haven't changed any settings. Edge is currently showing up as: Sys.Process("Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge").Window("Windows.UI.Core.CoreWindow", "Microsoft Edge", 1) Has anyone else ran into this? Any ideas how to get Edge to be recognized by Sys.Browser() so that my cross browser tests will work on Edge?1.6KViews0likes6CommentsTest Complete sometime see a window as a UIA object and sometimes as a windows object
I am working on automating some testing using a Windows Modern app built in XAML. Sometimes when the process launches Test Complete see the window as a UIA object and sometimes it sees it as a normal Windows object. Has anyone else seen this or have any idea why it would not consistently see the process the same way?511Views0likes0CommentsRe: Issues when Highlight Execution Point option selected.
The machine we use for automation doesn't actually havea monitor. I remote into it and let it run that way. I do have dual monitors though so I can look at letting the remote session use both and possibly try that. Thanks for the idea. I don't know if there is going to really be one programmatically so other suggestions are always helpful.920Views0likes0CommentsIssues when Highlight Execution Point option selected.
I am having issues with using controls in an Action Bar of a window if I have the Tools -> Options -> Engines -> General -> Debug - Highlight execution point option checked. As TestComplete goes through my Keyword Test it is coming to the foreground and covering the window it is interacting with as it is highlighting. If I turn off the highlighting, minimize TestComplete during the run, or run the steps manually one by one then everything works fine but if I run with the highlighting on it is unable to see the window as it is covered. I have tried adding Call Object Methods to activate the needed window to the foreground but that didn't help. I have workarounds by turning off the highlighting but I do like seeing it step through if I can so I thought I would see if anyone else had run into issues like this and what they had done. Thanks.1.1KViews0likes3CommentsData loop into dynamic grid
I am very new to TestComplete and am trying to find the most efficient way to cycle through entering data. I have a dynamic grid that creates rows as needed.I am trying to execute a data loop on the grid to create data in multiple rows. I have no problem setting up the data loop but the issue I am running into is that I only have 1 data grid row mapped and when the dataloop cycles to the next row it is not able to locate the controls in the 2nd row because the control is still looking at row 1 instead of cycling on to row 2. Is there a recommended mapping for dynamic grids so that it can cycle through the rows successfully? Thanks.Solved1.9KViews0likes1Comment
