Re: Test execution pauses during nightly runs when exception occurs
Hello Sumedha and Allan, I have the similar issue: Story: I have a test senerio where I input the data file to process and check whether it passes or failed for particular file input execution. So, function look like: function main() { //function call to get all files. foreach(file in files) { function test(file) { //Do processing. } } } Problem: Now, for any particular instance, my test execution fails. I want my test should continueexecution for next files input, indepedent of error occured in any particular itteration. Please guide, how to do that. Note: I have already handled the exceptions by try, catch block. I have already defined LogOnError event handler and runner.stop(true), but since it terminate my whole test execution. Hello, Yes, I have tried the steps mentioned in your given link, but I am using Win7 (64 Bit) OS to perform test. So I have changed the relevant windows settings as well. But didn't worked. Now, I have define the same method in .net dll and access the same in testcomplete. It successfully gives me correct strings with correct letters, but now I am not able to open these files using fullname (including path) in my test application. For that I have submitted a different support request (ID: M0086876). Kindly see the issue reported and reply. Thanks, Rajender Mehta670Views0likes0CommentsRe: Testing Chinese characters
Hello Jared &S owmyaPothu, I am experiencing the same issue: Summary of steps: Working on WIN7 64 bit OS and have some file with Chienese / Japanesecharacter names. I have made a routine to read the file name and store in a array in ODT. Whenever I am done with reading the file names and I see (??) instead of chienese / japanese character in file names. I have studied the support link mentioning changing script character encoding toUTF-16 and changing system language to chienese orjapenese. But didn'thelpin my case. Kindly help! Hello AQA Support, Brief background knowledge of my issue: I have an engineering application which have a graph view to display the data for various operation. I want to test this application for data validation on the screen. I am successfully able to get the screen shots while recording and compare these while run time execution of recorded test cases. Now, to forward one step further in this link, I want to get the data from graph view and compare the data while making test case execution result decision. Please help me, if you have any application note / suggestion for doing above steps. Further, I have a few basic questions: 1. How can I get the data from any member function (method) of the object captured in TestComplete, similar to Visual Studio debugger watch window? 2. Can I select the array of data to create a check point in TestComplete? I am attaching screen shots to brief you present scenario. Please ask me, if you require any other detail from my side. Hello David, Thanks for your prompt reply. Please elaborate more on the process "Specify TestComplete as a host application for your assembly and start debugging by launching TestComplete from Visual Studio instead of attaching to a process". If you can share some example program, that will be really helpful. Thanks, Rajender Mehta2.4KViews0likes0CommentsDebugging into dotnet DLLs.
Hello, I am using a dotnet dll in testcomplete and I am calling a method included in this library. Sequence of task: 1. Make reference of the assembly in Microsoft .Net CLR bridge in project properties. 2. Calling the method from dll (.net assembly) e.g. dotNET["SQCenterDBAccess"]["SQCenterDBController"]["GetInstance"]() 3. I set a breakpoint in same method in visual studio code editor and attached visual studio to testComplete process. Problem: While executing the script in TestComplete, I am not able to debug the code in dotnet assembly method. Breakpoint doesn't hit by the execution process. Software Versions: TestComplete: 7.52 Demo version MS Visual Studio: 2008 team edition. Please help me in"debugging into dotnet assembly" while execution from testComplete. Hello David, Thanks for your quick responce. I think the second option, adding event handler script and handling the result in that script, is quite a viable option. I have also designed a sample application for the same for trying your suggestion. I have added an OnLogError event handler for running my custom script. There are two parameter passed to the eventhandler method 1. Sender, 2. LogParams. But, I am facing a problem here, as I stops on the breakpoint added OnEvent Handler script, I dont't have any access to the TestCase information i.e. with which test case this error is associated. Kindly help me in understanding as above. Thanks, Rajender1.1KViews0likes0Comments
