Get specific rows from an excel data source.
Hi all Currently, the fields in the request have a one-one relation to fields within excel, thus one row per request from one worksheet, works great. I now have the issue where I have a one to many relation within data across different worksheets. An example might be to send organisation details like the name and a list of names within the organisation like: “Organisation 1” has “Bob” “Job” “Barry” Where organisations and names are stored in different worksheets (like tables) say org and name. Within the request I wish to iterate the data source like ${organisations#name[1]} and ${name#firstname[1]}, ${name#firstname[2]}, ${name#firstname[3]} so I can send all the data in one request. The Data Source Loop is good but only allows one row at a time to be extracted; I need many rows extracted from different work sheets between requests - ${name#firstname} only gets the last read row. Can this be done in Groovy? I tried context.expand( '${WageData#Pay}' ) but again I can’t choose the rows I wish. If it cannot be done, any suggested work arounds? I am using SoapUI Pro 3.0.1. Thanks! bo8ster14 years agoPlace ReadyAPI QuestionsReadyAPI Questions2.8KViews0likes1CommentRe: Windows install problem: Couldn't craete JVM
Sure I have attached the latest pids from each of the programs. Hope that helps. Sometimes soapUI crashes by itself however it is more noticeable when running more than one program at once (example, soapUI, loadUI and JMeter). Didn't have any issues with SoapUI 3.1 Pro (on another work computer although the envs vars (Path) were locked to the soapUI JRE but also meant I could not run other Java stuff). I got this issue again after I installed Soap 3.5. I had 3.6 beta installed but found it kept on crashing / closing. It would seem that SoapUI and LoadUI have issues working with the same JRE. I still had jre1.6.0_02 but had to manually put the jre that came with loadUI to get loadUI running. I did notice when using soap 3.1 Pro the test runner was particular with the version of Java it used too. Is there a dependency? Please run SoapUI and LoadUI at the same time and see if you have issues. I find they both just close unexpectedly which is most annoying.14 years agoPlace ReadyAPI QuestionsReadyAPI Questions2.5KViews0likes0CommentsloadUI and JMeter
Hi Guys Was using JMeter when yesterday a client who uses SoapUI recommended looking into your tool loadUI. Having used SoapUI 3.1 Pro I was interested. I have played with the load testing within SoapUI and found that to be quite useful. I reviewed the video and I like the look and style. I remember it being compared to JMeter and I do agree with the points presented while JMeter does have good functionality there is set up/planning time before running each test and I don't really know when it is finished. Also there is a feature in JMeter for recording with the intent to create production using the HTTP Proxy Recorder and a Recording Controller. Will something like this be done by loadUI? Lastly - off topic there was the mention of Jasper reports - great idea as it can be saved to just about any format.14 years agoPlace ReadyAPI QuestionsReadyAPI Questions9KViews0likes1CommentRe: Windows install problem: Couldn't craete JVM
I had the same issue. The underlying issue is a jre is not on the path. It can be downloaded (jre1.6.0_02) or \Program Files\eviware\loadUI-1.0-beta1\jre\bin can be added to the path. I have also found that if a jdk is on the path (I have netbeans installed) this is no good.14 years agoPlace ReadyAPI QuestionsReadyAPI Questions2.5KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Command line or batch option for loading request XML?
Have a good read of http://www.soapui.org/userguide/functio ... estep.html and http://www.soapui.org/userguide/properties.html Depending on your data you can either use properties or a table like data (xml, csv or DBs). The only thing you might need the cmd for is automatically running your test suites.2.7KViews0likes0CommentsExtract Rows from a Excel Datasource
Hi I have a question regarding data sources with SoapUI Pro, I am using SoapUI Pro 3.0.1 Currently I have an Excel data source step that 15 columns and 29 rows. I have created the properties for each column so when I run the step all the data appears in the ‘data log’ section. I can get a data source loop to move over all the data and use property expansion to reference the data in a request. How can I reference a particular row in a request like ${WageData#Pay[5] } where I am referencing the 5th row in the data source for the Pay property? This would be the same for a grid datasource. I tried in Groovy but I have the same issue context.expand( '${WageData#Pay}' ) does not allow me to choose the row I want. Can this be done another way like getting the result of the test step?
