JQL filters on TMFJ issues

HI,

Is it possible to create some JQL filter on JIRA bugs which are linked to some testcycle or testplan from TMFJ?

Re: JQL filters on TMFJ issues

Hi @Bozda,

Zephyr Scale Server has capabilities for using their custom JQL functions. Please find more information on this page: https://support.smartbear.com/zephyr-scale-server/docs/jql-functions.html

Specifically for Test Cycles, you can write JQLs like these:

project = MGS and issue in hasLinkedTestCycle()

project = MGS and issue in hasAllLinkedTestCyclesWithAllLastTestResults("Pass")

Unfortunately, there are no functions for querying Test Plans though. Also, Zephyr Scale Cloud doesn't have such capabilities.

I hope that helps!

Re: JQL filters on TMFJ issues

hasLinked queries are good only for identifying which issues are connected with some cycle or not, but this is not for exactly defined which the key of cycle is linked...so this query is almost unusable... 😞

Thats a pity...

I know about option to  via TMFJ report -

Issues reported during testing (list) - but i am not able to specify filtr for example only for Not closed defects/issues...

I see...

What exactly is the question you need answering? Is it "give me the bugs not yet closed and linked to test cycle XYZ"?

Yes exactly, but even better - give me the bugs not yet closed and linked to test plan XYZ...

Re: JQL filters on TMFJ issues

Gotcha, yes that makes sense!

If this function hasLinkedTestCycle() could accept parameters (or if there was a similar function for test plans with parameters) then you could filter by:

issueType = Bug AND status != closed AND issue in hasLinkedTestCycle(ABC-C123)

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be possible at the moment, but perhaps this is a good one for the ideas portal?

Yes...but we have many ideas and bugs long time ago to Adaptavist team, but most of them that they are reported

via previous

https://productsupport.adaptavist.com/servicedesk/customer/portals were ignored till now....

So what is the best step to prioritize and let the ideas go to production life?

Re: JQL filters on TMFJ issues

Hi @Bozda,

Sure, I understand. It is frustrating to wait for too long indeed.

Currently, the best way for requesting new features is through the ideas portal that I mentioned above. Once the ideas get traction, they move up on the internal backlog too. Bugs are reported through the support portal: https://smartbear.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portals

I'd advise to review your previous tickets of feature requests and put them on the ideas portal instead if they are not there yet. With more visibility for the community, your idea might get upvoted. If you have other bugs reported in the past, would you mind to post a quick comment there so we can take another look and provide an update?

Thank you.

Re: JQL filters on TMFJ issues

Hi, @vpelizza is there any expectation to have the issues report on the cloud version?

Thank you.

Re: JQL filters on TMFJ issues

Hi @tbsantos ,

I think your question is not related to this thread. Also, we won't be able to give updates on the roadmap status here in the community. I suggest following the same link to the ideas portal mentioned on the last comment for better visibility on what's coming and vote on ideas you believe will make the product better.
