Usage of timeout field in jenkins testcomplete plugin

Last night we executed a TestExecute job (version 12) in jenkins (2.46.1) without timeout. It runs a project in a project suite. When entering the office in the morning the jenkins job was still running, while the testexecute project should have been finished by then. Can it be that the plugin (version 1.7) doesn't properly detect the end of the project execution ? Also, if we specify a timeout of 3 hours and the project only takes 2 minutes to complete, the job still seems to run for 3 hours ...
