TestExecute Error: view.bin cannot be opened in exclusive mode.

We have been running TestExecute runs for a short amount of time now, however, we have only encountered this error once.

The Error occurred following a reboot (during windows boot), where TestExecute was set to run by running a command via the Windows  'run once' registry entry.  We have been using this technique for some time now and havn't experienced any problems with it.

The Error warns that the 'view.bin' file cannot be opened in exclusive mode.  There is an option to replace it with the default.  (screenshot attached)

This modal window prevented TestExecute from running - the error window sat there all weekend.  When we arrived, 'Yes' was clicked (replace the file with default), and then the test cycle continued as expected.

1. Please explain what the file (view.bin) is and what its purpose is.

2. What may have caused this error to happen?

3. How can we prevent it from happening again?

Thanks,

Adam

  • Hello Adam,

Please make a copy of the file and delete the original file. After that, run TestExecute. Do you face any problems in this case?
