Test Complete does not recognize drop down menu items in desktop application

Hi,

I am attempting to select a drop down menu item (not a combo box) in a test recording for a desktop application and I am having difficulties with Test Complete recognizing the menu items within a secondary screen. Does anyone know how to have the on-screen action (or other method) select the menu items that drop down? There are about five items that can be selected from the drop down menu, but I am unable to force a selection for them via the recording or with the use of the on-screen actions (drag the target to point to object, point and fix, and select object in visualizer).

Thanks

If I'm understanding correctly this is a menu similar to the "File" menu in NotePad.  This is not a standard "UI" component but an object that is a property of the main page.  For these kinds of actions, you need to use the "Menu Action" operation in keyword tests rather than "On-Screen Action".  Depending upon the menu, you may be able to select the option based upon the text or based upon the index.

    Is this what you mean?
