Emailing Project Log

Adding one more question to the above questions:



When I right click on the master project log(from the log items list) , I get this option of "Send Via email", which will generate a MHT file and attach it to the Outlook email message. Now where do I find this .MHT file?

Thanks for pointing this to me, however I dont think TestRunSummary.xml will be of any help to me, as all it gives is asummary. I'm rather looking for the list of testcases that ran (top level items) that ran along with their status pass or fail (just like/similar in the attachement of my original post).

I already konw about the SendMail option, but that requires me to first generate the .MHT file and then attach it with the email (by giving the filename as a parameter to SendMail function. But my question is not exactly that. When I execute SendMail command, it sends the file as an attachment, but is there a way where I can send the just the list of top level items that ran, along with their status as part of the email's body rather than an attachement.

How can I export the needed log to HTML/MHT thru scripts? Log.SaveResultsAs() works only if there's a function and it drops only that particular function's(or test) log. How can I capture the whole testrun's log.

There is no way to export the needed log from script by using the 'SaveResultsAs' method. However, you can parse the needed log data by using the approach described in the "Scripting Access to the Test Log Contents" help topic.

After that, you can pass the needed data as part of the body to the SendMail function without having to attach any files.

Try using the script below - it gets information displayed in the 'Log Items' pane of the 'Test Log' panel and posts it to the log along with the status of each log entry. The result that is returned by the GetLogItems() function can be also passed to the SendMail function's Body parameter.

Copy and paste the latest code to 'Code Editor'.

Your project's scripting language should be VBScript. Then, run the Test routine. See the 'Starting, Pausing and Stopping Tests' section of 'Running Tests - Overview' to learn how to run a routine. When TC finishes running the routine, the Log panel will be opened. You'll see the result in the 'Remarks' panel.





If you use keyword tests, you need to insert the 'Run Script Routine' operation and specify the Test routine as a parameter. Then, run the keyword test. The 'Running Tests - Overview' help topic contains information about how to run a keyword test.

I am having similar kind of problem. I used "BuiltIn.SendMail" and passed on correct address and host. Getting error as "Socket Error # 10061 Connection refused.".. I tried using "BuiltIn. SendMAPIMail"  but this also failed..

Any help is appreciated..
