Difference in the code for same Test Case

Hi, My query is:

I am using Test Complete for Desktop application testing. While recording test case I've encountered with a problem in which there is a difference I have found on UI code on my colleague's PC while recording same test case. The UI of our Application is in JAVA swing.

In the following attachment I've highlighted the numbers in "Second SignatureButton2.click()" In my colleague's PC it is different like: "Second SignatureButton3.click()".

In order to have similar code for the particular test case what would be the easy solution?

I will be looking forwards to receive possible and easy solution.

Regards,
Kashan

That is a mapping issue.  The same object is mapped twice within your NameMapping scheme.  Your solution is to edit your NameMapping so that there is only one Alias for the object that works on both your machines.  The specifics are all dependant upon how the objects were mapped in the first place, what properties are available, etc.

A lot of good stuff on managing name mapping can be found at

Why automate?  I do automated testing because there's only so much a human being can do and remain healthy.  Sleep is a requirement.  So, while people sleep, automation that I create does what I've described above in order to make sure that nothing gets past the final defense of the testing group.
