Hi! Tested application for Appium or BitBar starts automatically when you connect a new device.
In the keyword test, you just use the RunRemoteDevice operation.
I am tried RunRemoteDevice .. but before I run the RunRemoteDevice command I have to run android studio and emulator and appium server. Is there any way to do this so I don't have to run it manually before each test?
Alex: The bitbar doesn't work for me because it needs some test apk. I have only one apk and that is the app
I have uploaded the .apk application but it says some kind of message (photo): "Framework requires test file with extension: apk", why?

Hi,

Tested application and application with test code is required for 'plain Appium' tests only.
In case of TestComplete only tested application is required.
I would recommend to read https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/app-testing/mobile/device-cloud/index.html help section for details.

For sure you may create a code using TestComplete to automate start of these applications. (Not sure what for Android Studio is needed.)
But I think that it is more easy and reliable to start these applications via command line and do this as a prerequisite step before starting TestComplete.

I tried to set up bitbar according to the manual, but when I am at the step "recording" https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/tutorials/getting-started/first-test/android/start-recording.html
It ends up with this dialog..
I set everything up exactly as instructe.. 😞 please help me.

Hi,
The message says that your tested application cannot be started.
If it is not too late, let's start from the scratch as I am lost at where you are...
Mobile testing with BitBar cloud is documented in this help section: https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/app-testing/mobile/device-cloud/index.html.
Read it for details and follow it. I had no problems here.
If I remember it right, the sequence of actions is like this:
-- Login into your BitBar account;
-- Upload your tested application to BitBar;
-- Copy your access key and paste it into <Project Properties>|Mobile Devices|BitBar->API key;
-- Choose the device that you'd like to test on, start manual test session with it from BitBar UI and check if your tested application starts successfully;
-- In TestComplete use the wizard to generate the code with required capabilities for the selected mobile device and use this generated code in your test code.
All the above steps (except the one with manual test in BitBar) are documented in the mentioned help section.
Try to follow the documentation and let us know the result.
