Active X controls results in APPCRASH. Similar controls in VB did not crash.

Please follow the steps below to help us investigate the problem:



1. Request & download AQtime Standard, which is our free profiling tool, from our web site:

2. Install the tool.



3. Start AQtime with the -NotOpenApp command line argument. For example, you can use the following command line:


"c:\Program Files\SmartBear\AQtime 7\Bin\AQtime.exe" -NotOpenApp



4. Select the 'File | New Project' main menu item.



5. Right-click the Modules panel and select the "Add Module..." context menu item. In the Open File dialog, select the the tested application's executable file and click Open.



6. Take a look at the AQtime toolbar - there is a combo box. Open it and select the "Tracing | Exception Trace Profiler" item.



7. Select the "Options | Options..." main menu command - the Options dialog will appear.



8. Set the "Profiling Time | Event View | General | Exceptions | Depth shown" setting to 100 and click OK.



9. Start the tested application via selecting "Run | Run" in AQtime's main menu.



10. Reproduce the problem.




11. After the problem occurs, right-click somewhere within the Event View panel (it is opened by default at the bottom of AQtime's window) and select the 'Save All...' item.



12. Save the panel's contents to an HTML file and send me the file via our Contact Support form:

What should I do if the application must be run from another application? we require that all of our apps be launched from our main menu.

I finally got around to messing around with the multi processor like you mentioned and while AQTime does automatically open with the correct application I receive this message with it.

I clicked ok and told the window to not prompt me again. now when i open the associated application AQTime now opens but the application doesn't. is there a step i missed that is needed to allow AQTime and the application to open?

I'm not sure I understand your current scenario. Do you follow the steps I provided earlier? If so, let me know the number of the failed step and the describe the difference between the expected and the actual behavior in detail.

I followed your steps and added a registry item to launch AQTime when my specific application was launched. However when I click my application to open it, AQTime is the only thing that launches. It seems that AQTime blocks my application from opening.

After AQtime is started, you can launch the profiled application from AQtime using steps 4 and further from one of my previous posts.

As I mentioned before, our applications must be launched directly from our main menu and cannot be launched from an outside source.
