Connect mobile device(s) for testing via Wifi instead of USB

I have scripts running on both Android and iOS mobile devices.  After searching the documentationwith the term "wifi", I finnally got to the desired part I was looking for.

My understanding is that this feature works only with Android.  I understand the command line is a tool in Android SDK, but the info is available when we "show Mobile Screen" and choose a device from the list...

Anyone have tried this with existing tests on real devices?

I've just tried to run the Appium tests on my Android. But after indicating the IP address, there was an error. And I couldn't run the command adb connect in the command prompt. I couldn't get over to changing the scripts in the device id. I asked the guys from AutomationTestingHub (since they shared the steps here) and they can't help either.
