Howdy again... even better... came in this morning, fired up Test Complete... got message for a new update being available... I accepted and installed same. No longer have the problem!!!!
So, I immediately went to another of my machines where I had the same problem... again, was prompted for a new update.... took it.. problem solved again! Fantastic! Coincidence? I dunno, lol, all I know is my problem is gone.

Hmmm, really weird, as of today, trying to use the Spy now on a variety of pages, results in almost a "hang" with the big red square around the entire page and not "seeing" any of the objects etc. Still with IE 11... and TC12. ONLY still on the systems I updated and not an issue with the machines where I did a fresh install. So, a bunch of my tests that were able to click etc on objects on these pages, no longer can do so.
Not sure what is happening now....

So, I uninstalled everything... reinstalled TC12...
and am now back to the original issue with TC12 and the contentText.... IE PROCESS.EXE crash.
Sigh. Really strange. Any suggestions appreciated. As of now again, my test suite again will not execute. Again, same two machines,
