Structure of a binary file written down by the TestRecorder

Hi!

Whether there is an opportunity to transform or to convert a binary file received by recording the test TestRecorder'îì without application of function import in TestComplete. It would be desirable to learn(find out) - whether it is possible to receive structure or any way of opening of this test.

I am using TestRecorder 8 demo version with Testcomplete 6.5 Enterprise edition .I am not able to import the recorded file using

    File | Import | TestRecorder Data |

following error message pops up when i try to import.

Unable to create aroutine from the file .The file is corrupted.

    (message is also attached )

    Is this a compatibility issue?

I am  using Windows XP Service Pack 3

Is there any video demo available explaining TestRecorder 8 usage

  • Hi Swapnil,

Files generated by TestRecorder 8 can be opened only by TestComplete 8.

We do not have such a video. However, the functionality of TestRecorder is quite simple: you embed it to your application and record user actions on the application when you need this. Then, you can generate a data file that can be opened by TestComplete and converted to a test as if this test were recorded over the application with TestComplete.
