Name mapping at run time

Hi,

Since we have a huge name mapping file, we are planning to use different name mapping file for the extenal systems.

As per my understanding, Test complete uses only default name mapping file. Is there a way to attach name mapping file through script ?

Re: Name mapping at run time

Hi,

Only one Namapping file per project is allowed and it cannot be switched/replaced during runtime.

P.S. Consider new Usage Statistics functionality for NameMapping if it is relevant for you: https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/testing-with/object-identification/name-mapping/how-...

Re: Name mapping at run time

If you're running you tests via a batch file or powershell file, you could always replace the namemapping file before opening Test Complete / Execute.

Namemapping also allows you to save and use different configurations which I believe you can set at run time, though still the same file.
