Bug? Default Project Properties - changes to mapping lost after open/close TC8

I'm losing changes after altering my Default Project Properties (specifically, adding object mapping) and pressing OK to save, then shutting down TestComplete 8. If I export the changes, I can re-import them on program restart, but I'd expect the default project properties object mapping to stay.

Steps to reproduce

1. Start TC8

2. Tools | Default Object Properties

3. Object mapping - add an item from the screen to be mapped. (Dev express XtraTreeList in this example.)

4. Press OK to save.

5. Close TC8.

6. Open TC8.

7. Tools | Default Object Properties | Object mapping

    Notice the changes made previously are gone.

If I exported after step 4, I'm able to import after step 7 and see my changes.

Environment

TC8.0.290.7. Windows 7 Business, 64-bit (6.1. build 7600)

I believe we have a concurrent user license (not enterprise). I can find details if needed.

Any suggestions on how to get the default project properties to retain changes?

  • After seeing this was a known issue reported fixed in 7.10, I sent a note to tech support through the automated system. It included the following text:

    <meta content="text/html; charset=utf-8" http-equiv="Content-Type" />
    <meta content="Word.Document" name="ProgId" />
    <meta content="Microsoft Word 12" name="Generator" />
    <meta content="Microsoft Word 12" name="Originator" />

    Your website reports a Bugfix page for 7.10 that is
    unfortunately a broken page. The blurb showing in the search results says
    "Custom values of default project properties could be lost after
    TestComplete was closed". That's exactly what's happening to me.

  • Hi,

    As far as I know, you have submitted the same query to our Support team. Let's continue working via e-mail.
  • Of course, now I can't duplicate the problem. :-/

    If I see the problem again I'll respond via email through the support ticket that was opened.
