Auto alert for few seconds generated by testcomplete

Hello All,

Scenario : As my scripts are performing the validation which takes some time. I need to give some user friendly alert generated from TestComplete for some second about informing user that this validation is completed.

The alert should not have OK and Cancel button as I don't want user to perform any action. It should be information message shown to the user for some seconds.

Please let me know how can we give auto alerts from TestComplete.

Regards,

Nimish

You can use the delay method with a custom message: https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/reference/program-objects/aqutils/delay.html

Re: Auto alert for few seconds generated by testcomplete

Hello Carson,

I don't want to delay the execution. I just require a alert message for the user saying this validation is processing.

Let me know if this is possible as it is important to give user some message

Rather than a form or a popup, you can use the Indicator object to display messages during execution.  You can put custom text there at the beginning of the procss to indicate that the process has started and then push another text at the end to indicate that the process has completed.

A couple of years ago, I also created an extension that would give an elapsied time indication.

Why automate?  I do automated testing because there's only so much a human being can do and remain healthy.  Sleep is a requirement.  So, while people sleep, automation that I create does what I've described above in order to make sure that nothing gets past the final defense of the testing group.
