Hi all
We initially had desktop license and we have now acquired web license too.
I was trying to automate test in web browser (IE, Firefox & Chrome) however the objectspy fail to read anything on browser screen. Tabs, menu items, text etc nothing can be read. I was wondering if there is any object mapping required in project properties or anything else which will help to enbale all onscreen items ?
Thanks

Does your TestComplete patch is at same level than your firefox version ?
Launch the TestComplete -> Help -> Check for updates to be sure.
Normally, Chrome/Firefox need patches of Testcomplete and IE no need.
So currently, after preparing the browser, it works on Chrome.
Not in Firefox (and you have made all of the preparing steps even additionnal ones?)
And in IE it should works, does it ?

RTFM syndrom ?
Did you go across the steps of 'Preparing web browsers' ?

Yes I did but only for one of the browser(firefox). Did'nt bother to do it for other browsers since it didnt work for one. But then I tried configuring Chrome and it worked!
I'll have to further investigate why it didn't work for Firefox though but atleast I know its the issue with configuration of browser.

As you rightly pointed there was an update available. I have now most up to date version of TC.
However, there are few firefox configurations which are beyond my access level so I have raised a ticket with our IT support. Once that is done I am hopeful it should support firefox too. As far as IE is concern, I haven't had a chance to play around with it but I am pretty sure its the same issue.
Thanks for your help!

Thank you for helping BenoitB!
Hi @gdave, were you able to make it work for the other browsers using the suggested approach?

Hi
Sorry for delay in reply.
Yes the suggested approach worked partially. I had to involve our IT team as some of the browser configuration permissions are controlled at organisational level. The work is still under progress, specially firefox configuration. However I am able to do most stuff as of now. Thanks
Thanks
Thank you for the update. I am glad to hear that you can move forward now.
I'll go ahead and mark BenoitB's reply as a solution since it was helpful!
