TestExecute has encountered a problem in module tcCore.dll and needs to close

Hi all,

We are using testcomplete 10.60.3387.7 and testexecute 10.10.752.11.  We get "TestExecute has encountered a problem in module tcCore.dll and needs to close" when we try to run the scripts created by testcomplete.

Some detail information:

1) We created a project suite and wrote many script tests by using testcomplete on the test server (P1). These tests can run successfully by using the testcomplete.

2) We install the testexecute on the other test server (P2). Then we copied all the tests from P1 to P2. We use the command from "https://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/67464/" to run a routine from the script test. "Open project" is successful then we got the following problem "TestExecute has encountered a problem in module tcCore.dll and needs to close".

Our project suite a little bit large, about 50 script tests and 20 keyword tests.

Does anyone have idea?

Best Regards,

Jie

    Hi guoguo,

Do you consider updating your TestExecute version? Perhaps, you won’t face this issue in TestExecute 10.6. If it persists, I would really appreciate if you sent the crash report to our TestComplete Support Team so that they could investigate what is going wrong. You can contact them via our special form: http://support.smartbear.com/product-list/

      Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I upgrade the testComplete and testExecute both to Version 11.10. We converted the project from testComplete 10.60 to testComplete 11.10. Then we used testExecute to run the tests from testComplete 11.10.

The results tested by Firefox40, Chrome45 and IExplore11 are as followings:

      1) TestExecute will not crash

      2) The tests went often to error with Firefox40. For example, when we use "ClickItem" for a combobox. TestComplete and TestExecute will often throw the error "**  is selected in combobox XXX , but the value is not changed". But we controlled last state, the value of the combobox has modified properly. We really don't understand, why it happens?

      3) The same tests can run properly with Chrome45 and IExplore11

      Regards,

        Hi Guoguo,

        Thanks for your update.

As for #2, it looks like our QA team has reproduced a similar issue. This is happening due to some Firefox specifics. Our R&D team is investigating this situation to identify if they can do anything here.
