TestComplete Report

We can export TestComplete test result report to MHT format which contain single file and display all the scenarios in log. Do we have any other format that we can do ?

I have seen when we export the testComplete test result in html but it also export so many other files.

I am looking for other format which has the capabilities similar to MHT format.

Our goal is after the the testComplete tests get execute we are export the result in MHT format to our wiki page. But the problem is MHT file can only be opned in IE browser. As team here don't use IE browser and most people do not IE browser .

Please update

Thanks

Re: TestComplete Report

You can export to xml - https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/reference/project-objects/test-log/log/saveresultsas...

You could also build a custom report, or export the html file(s) to a network share then just link to that on your wiki.

Re: TestComplete Report

You didn't specify any requirements. Those are you other options provided natively, XML or link to exported html files.

Re: TestComplete Report

Ok.

I want to export the test result to another machine in the network. for e.g.

\\machine-name\\users\\testComplete \\

then how can we mention the path in the Log.SaveResultsAs  ?

Thanks

Re: TestComplete Report

As mentioned in the above link, the first parameter is SaveResultAs is filename:

"FileName The file path (when exporting to XML or MHT) or folder path (when exporting to XML or HTML) to save the log to. If the parent folders do not exist, they will be created."

You just have to pass the URL of a network shared folder as the filename parameter when calling the method.

I recommend creating subfolders with with something like \\server\shareName\ProjectName\Date\Time so you don't overwite old logs and have an easily viewable history.

Alternatively, use the date and time in the filename of the file being saved.  Either way, you'll want to rename the file differently each time you save.
