Test Complete mouse control

Is there a way to run a TestComplete Script on your desktop, while the window is minimized, so that a user can continue working on other projects, without having to wrestle control of the mouse or pause execution?

Thank you.

Dan, Thank you for replying. I am aware of those features. I was hoping with 11 that we could get control of that mouse! Looks like I will have to remote in and minimize.

    Thanks

    Hi lcorkren!

When TestComplete executes a test or script, it takes over the mouse and keyboard functions to mimic what a real user would do if they were testing it manually.   What you're describing could be done if you use a virtual machine or another physical machine to run your tests.  Then you would be free to work on your own desktop or laptop while that test runs.

The reference links below might help.

TestExecute (for playback of tests): http://smartbear.com/product/testcomplete/desktop-module/features/testexecute/

Free tool to set up a Windows VMs (there are many tools out there, it does require a Windows license):

we use a separte box that has Test Execute installed. That way we can execute our test using Test Execute which frees up our desktop to continue working
