MappedName the same for different objects

Rookie type question - Under the Object Browser I have three different items with the same mapped name. When testing the automated test goes to the first of the three items for all the items. How do I work around this so all three items are independently seen?

Thanks,

Mike

Re: MappedName the same for different objects

What I found to work for me is to use the FullName shown in the Advanced View of the ObjectBroswer rather than the MappedName.

Re: MappedName the same for different objects

You can give them each a different name in Aliases and then use the Alias to reference them in the test.

Re: MappedName the same for different objects

It appears as all three of the those objects are represented by the same name mapped object. I do no see a method of renaming the items under the object spy.

Do you know if there is a training video which shows this issue?

Re: MappedName the same for different objects

I haven't used the videos, so I'm not sure what's there.  @sonya_m any suggestions?

Here's a section of the documentation that talks about it:

Thank you for helping here Marsha!

@maumrm I am glad to hear you found what's working for you.

I did not encounter this specific question showcased in learning videos, but just in case, here's the list of free learning courses we provide at the moment - you might find something useful there I am sure.
