Automate the applications that require 2 factor authentication

We have some web based applications that require 2 factor authentication as attached here. How can we automate the 2 factor authentication.   Please advice.   Thanks NG

Do you really need to automate it? What for? Can you provide a sample use-case? Isn't it more convenient and reliable (in terms of tests speed, reliability and work efforts) to have some dedicated test account(s) that does/do not require 2 factor authentication but just proceeds to the application? And leave verification that 2 factor authentication works correctly with your application to manual/API/security/etc. testing while you will focus on verification of the functionality of the tested application.

    I agree with AlexKaras's point. But, if you must do this do you have access do your back end db? If so could just pull the send code from there to use?
