Test Execute is taking maximum cpu usage at times

When the test suite runs, the test execute is taking maximum cpu usage and making the test run to stuck. Any ideas on how to reduce the cpu usage?

Re: Test Execute is taking maximum cpu usage at times

There are many many things that could cause an increase in CPU usage.

  1. What are the specs of the machine you're running on?
  2. What OS are you running?
  3. Is there anti-virus running on the machine?
  4. What version of test complete?
  5. What application type?
  6. If web, what browser and version?
  7. Are you using a lot of extended finds in your scripts?
  8. Does this happen randomly or in many areas of your tests?
  9. Have you tried disabling all unused extensions in test complete?

Re: Test Execute is taking maximum cpu usage at times

Its windows 7 professional 32-bit OS, having 4GB RAM. I am using Testcomplete 12.20. And the application is a java based one. The test execute is taking maximum cpu usage at times while the test is running. This happens in the vm's.

You're running this in a VM I take it? Are you hosting the VM from your local computer or is it hosted on a VM server? 32-bit / 4GB makes me thing it's a pretty underpowered setup, and Java is known to be pretty resource heavy on it's own.
