IIS 6 Workaround

Hello,

I have installed TestComplete 7.20 Enterprise and am trying to write my first load test on an ASP.NET application.

The program requirements states that IIS installation is required to develop Load Testing scripts.  My organization prohibits installation of IIS on my development PC.

My question is: Is there a workaround that will let me develop and test TestComplete ASP.NET Load Testing scripts on my development box or is it a hard requirement that BOTH TestComplete and IIS be installed on the same box?

I do have the VS2008 built-in browser available on my development PC.

I have looked at the forums and video introduction but could not find the answer to this.  Any help or guidance is appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Ted Campbell

  • Hi Ted,

Actually, IIS is required to install Load Testing samples. It is not needed to perform load tests. Please see the "System Requirements" help topic for details.

BTW, the current version of the product is TestComplete 7.52. You can download the update from our web site and from the ClientServices portal (https://clientservices.automatedqa.com/).
