Distributed testing across different subnets !! Any known issues ?
Good morning,
I recently took over a colleague's automated scirpts that were developped using TC 6 & 7.52 . Before he left he mentioned that the main test machine (where TC resides) must be on the same subnet as the hyper V servers that are hosting all the VMs. Sure enough, not doing this did cause some networking issues. So, i had no choice but to keep all necessary hosts on the same subnet.
In addition, being on two different subnets seems to cause an issue with the licensing manager. TC & TE seem to detect the licensing service only when running on the same subnet !!
So my question is: Are there any knows issues related directly and specifically to subnetting ?? Must all testing hardware be located on the same subnet ? are there specific tweks that need to be done when working on different subets ?
Can you please shed some lights on this ?
note: see the attachment for a detailed diagram of my setup !!
Thank you.
