Connectios and Requests problem On 64 bit systems

I am new  to load testing . I am using   TestComplete 5    . Here is the problem i am getting



 I am trying to do load testing. My application is on 2008 and 2003  64 bit Application server. Testcomplete is installed on XP Professional  2002.  Recorded the load testing task its opening number of connection and requests for a single transaction  ( EX : Only one transaction like customer booking)  only.In my task recording i am getting another URLs requests that are connected to my testcomplete installed sys.But the same able to take load testing stats On 2003  32 bit sys.

    Hi Phani,





    I'm not sure I understand what actually happens. Could you please describe the problem in detail? What is the difference between the expected and the actual behavior of TestComplete?

    Previous scenario


    Application on 2003 64 bit and 32 bit

    Test complete on Windows xp


    When I used to record tasks for load testing, the requests used to be in a sequential order in the Connections pane under respective connections.


    Present scenario


    Application on 2008 64 bit server

    Test Complete on Windows xp


    When i am trying to record tasks for load testing, the requests are not recorded in a sequential order in the Connections pane. Why is it so? Do i need to do any settings in the Test complete tool or any settings in the browser (i am using IE 6.0.) to get the requests in a sequential order?

    Hi Phani,





    If you need to see all requests in a sequential order, follow the steps below:

    1. Open the task in Task editor.

    2. Right-click somewhere within the panel which contains requests & connections.

    3. Select the "No Grouping" context menu item.

    4. Click the Request column header in the same panel to sort the requests.

    I am using Test complete 5 In that i didn't find following navigation what you have given

    In 2003 32 and 64 bit server, the requests recorded for the transactions are in a sequential order in the connections list, but in 2008 server, able to open the connections, but the requests specific to a transaction are not in a single connection, they are getting divided into various connections. Do we need to change any settings such that the requests specific to a transaction are recorded in a single connection. Please provide any support URLs or documents, if any, for the same.

    Hi Phani,





    Connections are established by your client application (e.g. a web browser). TestComplete does not affect this behavior in any way - the tool just records the traffic the way it is sent/received by your web browser.

    Does the behaviour of connections depend on the application web browser (browser where application resides) or the test complete web browser (browser where test complete is installed)?

    Hi Phani,





    TestComplete records HTTP traffic produced by an application (e.g. a web browser) running in your system. Connections are established by this application. After the traffic is recorded, the connections are no longer changed. So, it depends on the web browser used for traffic recording. Anyway, you should not worry about connections, because I haven't heard of issues related to the way requests are distributed by connections. This distribution can actually be different in different browsers, but server-side web applications logic is still the same for them.

    Hi Allen,


    I am greatful to you for the information you provided.

    Still, I am really not clear about the working of "TestComplete5" in window2003  and windows 2008 environments.

    Previously, when I used to record tasks for load testing, the requests used to be in a sequential order in the Connections pane under respective connections.



    Environment details as follows:

    Server:

       Application Server - Windows 2003,64bit,Internet Explorer6.



    Client: 

      Test Complete5 installed on Windows XP

      Browser - Internet Explorer6.


    But now,the request for some transactions are not in sequential order and  requests of one connection are placed in another connection of the connection pane.



    Environment details :

    Server:

    Application server - Windows2008, 64bit, Internet Explorer9


    Client:

    Test Complete installed on windows xp (same system used for 2003environment).

    Browser - Internet Explorer6.

    Also, attaching the screen shot in which u can find red coloured boxes

    indicating problem area.



    I would like to apprietiate your help in this regard. Hope you find a possible solution asp.

    Hi Phani,





    Requests are not supposed to be sent in a connection sequentially. If you see request 1 in connection 0, request 2 in connection 1 and request 3 in connection 0, it is not a problem. That's just the way your web browser works.
