Newbie question regarding Swagger and API info

Greetings,

I am on a team that is testing out using Swagger for API documentation. One of the devs is concerned about the Swagger data (Descriptions, input types, examples, etc.) live in the JavaScript codebase.

Is it possible to have them in a different file on the server to reference instead of in the code itself?
